Raising the Barre
Each year, Dance Discovery will recognize the student who has grown in all styles of dance, and who represents all the qualities the studio strives to instill.
Samantha Bamlet is this year’s recipient of this prestigious award. In everything she does, Samantha embodies what it means to be a dancer. From her focus during warm-ups to her expressive artistry and thoughtful character portrayal, she brings intention and heart to every moment. Across every style she has studied—Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Tap—Samantha has demonstrated an outstanding work ethic, a commitment to her craft, and support for her fellow dancers. Samantha is not only a hardworking dancer, but a smart one. She listens carefully, retains corrections, and consistently applies them with precision. Her attention to detail in choreography and ability to adapt quickly make her a standout in any room. The technical growth she has shown this season has been remarkable. She has notably expanded her Ballet vocabulary, performing exceptionally well on her monthly exams and showing a clear understanding of both movement and terminology. Beyond her technical ability, Samantha has shown leadership and accountability in the classroom. She prepares diligently outside of class, arrives ready to work, and sets an example of dedication and discipline. Her passion, drive, and steady growth have made her a valued presence in the studio and to those around her. We have loved getting to see Samatha grow and we cannot wait to see her achieve her greatest aspirations!
